Phase 3 of the ELCCA curriculum provides advanced, specialized training for counselors to address the complex challenges individuals and families face within the church. This phase deepens your skills in Spirit-led, evidence-based counseling, focusing on areas such as trauma, addiction, family dynamics, and crisis intervention. Courses like Integrated Marriage & Family Therapy, Child and Adolescent Therapy, and Crisis and Abuse Therapy equip you to offer compassionate, biblically-grounded care. Whether supporting those struggling with addiction, grief, or family issues, Phase 3 ensures you're prepared to serve your congregation with wisdom, empathy, and excellence.

Concentrations (2 concentrations required):

 

  • Integrated Marriage & Family Therapy

  • Child and Adolescent Therapy
    Focuses on applying temperament-based techniques to support the mental and emotional development of children and adolescents.

 

  • Temperament Therapy
    Delves deeper into advanced applications of temperament therapy across diverse counseling scenarios.

 

  • Crisis and Abuse Therapy
    Prepares counselors to handle acute crises and trauma, offering temperament-based interventions for survivors of abuse.

 

  • Substance Abuse and Addiction Therapy
    Covers strategies for counseling individuals struggling with addiction, with an emphasis on understanding the temperamental factors influencing addiction.

 

  • Sexual Therapy
    Explores counseling techniques for addressing sexual issues within the context of Christian values and temperament insights.

 

  • Death & Grief Therapy

Students apply Temperament Therapy in their chosen concentrations, gaining practical experience in specialized areas of counseling.


Advanced Case Study on Applying Temperament Therapy:
A project that demonstrates mastery of the material and the ability to apply advanced counseling techniques in one of their areas of concentration.
